Cost Basis Tutorial
Individual Accounts
To view how to make changes for GROUP ACCOUNTS please skip to “Group Accounts”
1. You may view your current cost basis elections for individual accounts by selecting "Cost Basis Method" from the left hand side navigation.
2. Expanding the "Cost Basis Method for Specific Funds" allows you to view your current cost basis method for each fund.
To change the cost basis method for your account, select the “Edit” button. Please note you may only make account level changes online.
3. Please read the Important Information on this page. Then click on the "Next" button at the bottom of the page. If you have any questions prior to making a change, please contact client services at 1-877-887-9339.
4. You may select a new account level cost basis method from the dropdown menu. Then click on "Submit" at the bottom of the page.
5. Once submitted you will receive an additional pop-up to confirm your changes. Click "OK" to submit. Please note your change may take up to two business days to process.
6. You will receive a confirmation page reflecting your requested changes. You may print this confirmation for your records.
7. Additional Cost Basis Information
On the Account Positions page, you may view cost basis information for your funds by clicking on the
icon. Clicking on Expand All will show cost basis information for all applicable funds.
8. Additional Cost Basis Information
Cost Basis information may also be available on the Account History page for exchange redemption or redemption transactions. Click on the
icon next to a redemption to see underlying transaction information.
Group Accounts
9. Once logged into
www.traderydex.com you may manage cost basis methods on an account or group of accounts. To begin, select Cost Basis Management from the left hand side navigation. If you are a financial professional and do not have the Cost Basis Management link please contact client services at 1.877.887.9339, Monday through Friday from 8:30AM to 5:30PM ET.
10. Please read the Important Information on this page. Then click on the "Next" button at the bottom of the page. If you have any questions prior to making a change, please contact client services at 1.877.887.9339
11. You may make changes at either the group or account level. Please note groups are available for Financial Professionals and retail investors with more than one account.
12. Once the group has been selected, the screen will expand and display your available options.
13. You may select a new cost basis method from the drop down menu. You may select or deselect underlying accounts from the method change. Then click on the “Preview Changes” at the bottom of the page.
14. You may select or deselect underlying accounts from the method change.
15. From the preview screen, select the "Back" button to modify your changes, or select "Submit" to accept. "Cancel" will exit your change request.
16. Once submitted you will receive a pop-up to confirm your changes. Click "OK" to submit. Please note your change may take up to two business days to process.
17. You will receive a confirmation page reflecting your requested changes. You may print this confirmation for your records.
